The field of transplantation has made remarkable advances in improving survival outcomes. Mental health remains a critical—yet often overlooked—determinant of long-term outcomes and quality of life. Mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, and substance use not only affect patients’ well-being but also influence adherence, recovery, and even survival. Addressing these issues is essential for delivering truly holistic transplant care. In this session, participants will gain both practical tools and a broadened understanding of how mental health can be embedded into everyday practice, making mental health a core element of transplant care.
