A/Prof Levvey has over 45 years of clinical nursing experience, with the last 30+ years spent working in cardiothoracic (primarily lung) transplantation nursing and clinical research at The Alfred Hospital and Monash University, Melbourne.

A/Prof Levvey is an experienced and qualified educator/ lecturer and is currently Australia’s most experienced and academically proficient nursing expert in lung transplantation, an experienced researcher and co-investigator on multiple, active research studies covering all aspects of organ donation and lung transplantation, and to date has authored or co-authored more than 160 peer review scientific publications and published several book chapters on optimisation of organ donation opportunities and lung transplant outcomes.
