With nearly 3 decades of experience in nephrology and kidney transplantation he is currently the Chairman and HOD Nephrology and Kidney Transplant across Yatharth group of hospitals Faridabad region, contributing to advancing kidney care through innovative treatment approaches and patient-centered care. He brings a wealth of expertise from prior leadership roles at Asian, Medanta, Fortis and Apollo group of hospitals , ensuring a holistic and compassionate approach to complex medical challenges. Apart from handling all forms of dialysis and ensuring world class care of chronic kidney disease patients he has a keen interest in kidney transplant, especially high risk cases. Dr Sharma has been involved in nearly 3000 transplants across Apollo, Fortis, Medanta and Asian group of hospitals. He has the distinction of first published case of ABO incompatible transplant in India with his team at Medanta. He is the pioneer of difficult transplants in this region, being the first to to perform cadaveric (deceased donor) transplant (max numbers till date) and has to his credit largest series of high risk and medically challenging transplants viz ABO incompatible, HLA incompatible, re transplants, paired exchanges, pre emptive kidney transplants, paediatric transplants and transplants in patients with heart disease (published in reputed international journals).
