Kate Clark received a liver transplant in 1998. Transplantation has been a significant part of her family’s journey, with both her father and late brother also undergoing life-saving transplants.
An accomplished endurance athlete, Kate is passionate about demonstrating that life after transplantation can be active, fulfilling, and without limits. Through her own experiences, she challenges perceptions and inspires others to see that many barriers faced by transplant recipients are often assumptions rather than realities.
Kate serves as Co-Chair of the Transplant Australia Football Club and is a Trustee of the World Transplant Games Federation, where she leads the Sports Committee. In this role, she helps shape and develop WTGF sporting programs, promotes participation in sport and physical activity, and works to create inclusive, high-quality event experiences that enable transplant recipients, living donors, donor families, and supporters to thrive.
A passionate advocate for organ and tissue donation, Kate encourages people to have the donation conversation and register their decision. She is equally committed to supporting transplant recipients to stay active as part of their recovery, long-term health, wellbeing, and ongoing transplant success.
