Pablo Sanchez (US)

I am the Lowell T. Coggeshall Professor of Thoracic Surgery at The University of Chicago Medicine, serving as Surgical Director of Lung Transplant and Adult Respiratory Mechanical Circulatory Support. My career spans leadership roles at leading academic centers, including the University of Pittsburgh and University of Washington. Board-certified in thoracic surgery, I have authored numerous manuscripts, book chapters, and invited reviews, and serve on editorial boards and as an ad hoc reviewer for leading journals in cardiothoracic transplantation. My NIH-funded lab focuses on lung transplantation, ECMO, ex vivo lung perfusion, and donor organ assessment. I actively serve on leadership committees with ISHLT, ELSO, and UNOS, and am dedicated to educating future surgeons, fostering diversity, and advancing clinical excellence.
