Ling Lu, M.D., Ph.D., Chief physician, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor. Vice President of Xuzhou Medical University and Secretary of the Party Committee of the Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University. He was selected for the National Hundred, Thousand, and Ten Thousand Talent Project, earning the title of "Outstanding Young Expert with Outstanding Contributions". He received special government subsidies from the State Council and was selected in the sixth issue of "333 high-level talents" in Jiangsu Province (first level). He directed projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China's Outstanding Young Scholar funding and the 863 Young Scientists Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
Prof. Lu serves as the Director of Research Unit of Liver Transplantation and Transplant Immunology of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and the Director of Key Laboratory of Jiangsu Provincial Universities. He is also a member of various prestigious organizations including the Transplantation Science Section of the Transplantation Society (TTS), the Precision Medicine Section of the International Liver Transplantation Society (ILTS), and he is the Chairman of Immunotherapy Engineering Section of the Chinese Biomedical Engineering Society, the Vice Chairman of the Precision Medicine Section of the Chinese Hospital Association. He also serves as the chief editor of AME Surgical Journal, the editorial board of Cellular & Molecular Immunology, the executive editor of Engineering and the associate editor of Cytokine.
Prof. Lu applied regulatory T cells to induce immune tolerance in patients after living donor liver transplantation for the first time internationally. He has published 105 papers in journals such as Nature Reviews Immunology, Cancer Discovery, Gut, Journal of Hepatology and Hepatology and has been continuously awarded as one of the Most Cited Chinese Researchers by Elsevier. He was awarded as the 23rd "Qiushi" Distinguished Youth Achievement Transformation Award of China Association for Science and Technology. He also won the first prize of the Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Award, the second prize of the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award, and many other provincial and ministerial awards as the first complete person.
